IDENTITY Journal - Heaven's Citizen

"Together, we are his house,
built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets.
And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.
We are carefully joined together in him,
becoming a holy temple for the Lord."
- Ephesians 2:19-20 NLT

Except for the Envelope, this spread is all doodles and text. I just love to get in the flow of doodling and writing words that are meaningful to me, embellishing with pattern. Feeling blessed as I ponder the meaning of what it means to have a God who loves me and grateful I belong in His family.

"Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves,
you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness,
humility, gentleness, and patience...
forgive others...clothe yourselves with love,
which binds us all together in perfect harmony....
let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts...
and always be thankful"
- Colossians 3:12, 13, NLT

"...Lead a life worthy of your calling,
for you have been called by God.
Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other,
making allowance for each other's faults because of your love.
Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit,
binding yourselves together with peace.
For there is one body and one Spirit,
just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father,
who is over all and in all and living through all.
However, he has given each one of us a special gift
through the generosity of Christ."
~ Ephesians 4:1-7 NLT

  2. I love your work. Beautiful and inspirational. I'm sure you get asked questions all the time, but what do you use for colors on pages like this? It's so vibrant!

    1. I use Golden Fluid Acrylics. You can check out my Notes about Acrylic Paint in the sidebar. Within a month I have planned to offer an online class Lettering & Doodling Hope that shows that. The Embellishing Edges and Text Class also teaches some of the techniques you see in this post.

  6. Your page is beautiful. Roughly, how long would it take for you to complete a page like this?

    1. Hmmm, I purposefully did not keep track of time on this journal, because I wanted to get lost in the process and prayer of it. Time really varies. It does make me curious and want to ask, "Why did you ask?"

    2. I understand about the prayer factor and getting lost in the creativity and prayer. I ask because I wandered if perhaps it would take just an hour or so or would it take a day. For example if I were to create a page like that it would take me a couple of days. But I am thinking a certain amount of discipline is needed.

    3. I spent a bit of time on and off during a week. I had listened to the podcasts earlier and then some when I was doing the journal.
