my motto

While I was floundering after the school I taught at closed, my husband Keith suggested I make a motto or mission statement to live by and make art by. I had tried to do it in the past but it just didn’t come. Now it came simply, like a nice little “duh” moment. It appears on the cover of one of my visual prayer journals.

Do you have a motto or mission statement you would like to share?

  1. I do have a mission statement, but it's very long compared to yours. Mine developed through my work with a Life Coach. I think I'll take another look at it and see if maybe I can reduce it to motto form. I think I would enjoy having something short and snappy, or short and pithy to put on a wall, or on my business card, or... somewhere else. Thanks for the good idea.

  2. I've tried for a mission statement, but ended up with a motto and a yearly goal sheet. At first I didn't want to do it. I think I was afraid I'd look at the goals at the end of the year and then be discouraged because I didn't accomplish what I had hoped, but that hasn't been the case. I think it helped to imagine I was at the end of the year looking back at what I would want to have accomplished instead of looking ahead. Does that make sense?

  3. Oh Valerie - I was so excited to see your posting this morning - words fail me as I see this unfold and how the Lord is using you and the doors opening and we the view get to walk through and see and here what you are seeing and hearing and yet I know your desire is that we the view participate - thank you for putting it all out there and letting us come in to your world - "Look and see that the Lord is Good"

When I see the swirl I am reminded that God is even in the simple things and makes them complete.

  4. Hi Valerie,

I found a picture of this on Pinterest that led me here. I just love your motto and would love to have a copy of this framed. Do you sell prints of this or would it be OK to save and print it myself?

When I saw it on Pinterest, I thought, "That's exactly who I want to be!" Thank you for sharing! ~ Becky
